R-Haan
About This Experience
R-Haan is one of the most ambitious modern Thai restaurants in Bangkok, founded in 2018 around a simple thesis: that Thai cuisine deserves the same reverence as a Kyoto kaiseki or a Parisian tasting menu. Chef Chumpol Jangprai builds menus that travel north, north-east, central and south, holding to original recipes and ingredients prescribed by the regional canon.
The set-menu structure mirrors a traditional Thai meal: rice as the centerpiece, with curries, salads, soups and stir-fries arrayed around it. Each course is plated on commissioned brass and ceramic ware that nods to royal court dining. The wine and tea pairings have become quietly excellent over the past few seasons.
The restaurant occupies a teakwood villa just off Sukhumvit 53, with a private dining room for up to 20. Two MICHELIN stars retained in the 2026 guide.
Why It's Special
One of the very few Thai restaurants serving an uncompromised regional menu at this level of polish, with no fusion concessions to a Western palate.
