Sühring
About This Experience
Sühring is the rare fine-dining room that feels like a home, because it actually was one. Identical twin chefs Thomas and Mathias Sühring took over a leafy mid-century Bangkok villa and turned it into a personal museum of modern German cooking, drawing on their grandmother's recipe books and their training under Juan Amador and at Mezzaluna.
The long tasting menu walks through Schwarzwald, Bavaria, the Baltic and Berlin: smoked eel from the Spree, sourdough fermented in-house, käsespätzle redone with brown butter and aged comté, sauerbraten reduced into glassy layers, jet-black sour-cherry desserts. The pairings dig deep into German Riesling and Spätburgunder, a wine list almost no one else in Asia is building.
It is one of Bangkok's most consistently booked dining rooms, beloved equally by visiting Europeans missing home and by Thai diners who know this is the most considered take on the cuisine in the region.
Why It's Special
