Wana Yook
About This Experience
Wana Yook is one of the newer entries into Bangkok's Michelin Thai canon, set inside the heritage Central: The Original Store building on Charoenkrung. The room is intimate, with a counter looking onto the kitchen and a small dining room behind.
The tasting menu plays in Modern Thai territory: hand-cut Thai charcuterie, smoked river fish with herb pastes, slow-braised beef in muslim-style massaman, intricate Thai sweets to close. Plating is contemporary but every flavour is rooted firmly in Thai tradition.
It is the kind of place that earns a Michelin star quickly because the technique, sourcing and storytelling are all already in lockstep.
